Palm trees also known as Arecaceae are a family of flowering plants which are found in warm temperate climates and tropical places. They are an easy plant to spot because of their size and the size of there evergreen leaves at the top and the shape of them. The way the world is changing you will find palm trees in countries where you would never find a palm tree to ever be. They are at luxury locations all over the world they are like a symbol of paradise. Some palm trees also produce fruit and coconuts depending on the location and type of palm tree. This is because there are over 2600 different species of palm trees all around the world.

Here is a video showing my Palm tree i modeled inside maya using a noise texture to give it a tree surface and rendered with Mental Ray.

My next thing to model was a cave to help me i have done a little research into caves and how they are constructed. I have collected a lot of  images to help me and give me references when i start modelling.
